COMOS

COMOS (COMponent Object Server) was originally developed in the 1990s by logotec Software GmbH and later distributed and implemented by innotec GmbH. Since its acquisition by Siemens, COMOS has been continuously developed as an integrated CAE platform under the umbrella of Siemens Digital Industries Software. It is now regarded as the leading CAE system for the process and manufacturing industry.

What is COMOS?

COMOS is an open, object-oriented software system that combines engineering and operating data in a common environment. It enables the central collection, processing and transfer of information for plant planning, documentation, automation and maintenance - in real time and across systems.

It is a versatile engineering tool that is used across all sectors in areas such as refineries, power plants, the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries as well as in mechanical engineering, energy suppliers and automation technology. Typical applications include the creation of P&IDs and process planning, EI&C planning and documentation, the integration of CAD and PLM systems and data migration from legacy systems. COMOS also offers end-to-end documentation options for the operation and maintenance of plants.
